LEADING THE WAY

Leadership is easy. Until you bring people into it.

You can be good at your job, know your business inside-out and have a clear idea of what needs to happen. Then you bring other people into the picture, and suddenly, getting things done involves managing people. You're dealing with different personalities, maybe some misunderstandings, giving feedback, and some conversations you'd really rather not have at all.

Being a great leader isn't just about getting things done or being in charge. It's about understanding people, building trust, communicating effectively and creating an environment where your people can do their best work, day after day.

Leading the Way is a practical workshop designed for business owners, managers and team leaders who want to strengthen their leadership skills and build more effective working relationships with the people they lead.

Whether you're new to leadership or have years of experience, there is always more to learn about yourself, the people around you, and what makes teams work well together.

What we'll explore:

  • Building Trust as a Leader

What helps people feel able to raise concerns, admit mistakes, offer ideas, and challenge assumptions, with you and with each other?

  • The Leader's Influence

How do your everyday behaviours and responses shape the way people interact with you and each other?

  • Being Open to Feedback

How do you respond when someone says something you don't particularly want to hear? How do your team members respond to feedback?

  • Encouraging Honest Conversations

How can you make it easier for people to speak up, listen to each other, and address problems directly?

  • Understanding Different Perspectives

What does it take to bring people with different communication styles, different perspectives, and different ways of working, together, and get them rowing in the same direction?

  • Navigating Conflict?

How do you approach difficult conversations or conflict situations in your team?

Why book this workshop?

  • Better Communication

You will learn how to communicate clearly, directly, and kindly with your team, and support them in doing the same.

  • Stronger relationships

Clear, constructive communication, shared goals, trust, and understanding help people work better together, making a happier and healthier work environment

  • Promote Creativity and Innovation

Encouraging people to speak up, and then listening to their different perspectives, can lead to creative problem-solving and new ideas.

  • Improve Decision Making

When different viewpoints are considered and listened to, you can make better decisions and get more buy-in from everyone on the team.

  • Identify and Address Problems

Courageous conversations bring underlying issues to the surface, allowing them to be addressed and resolved, so work can continue smoothly. When you lead by example with constructive communication, you make it possible for others to do the same.

What will you take away?

Creating a team where people can speak honestly, listen to each other, and work through challenges, doesn't happen by accident. It happens when leaders intentionally create an environment where it is safe and desirable to do so, and where they support their teams in putting these skills into practice.

You will leave with greater awareness of your impact as a leader and practical ideas you can put to use right away.
