Getting out of the Comfort Zone

When you run a business or lead a team, you may need to spend a lot of time outside your comfort zone. That means doing things that feel uncomfortable, things that don’t feel good. So your instinct may say, “Danger! Get back to your comfort zone!”

Your brain is trying to keep you safe.

The problem is, keeping yourself safe can also keep you small. It stops you from growing. Just outside the comfort zone is a ring of discomfort and fear. And beyond that lies a zone of growth and the result you want.

In order to grow and get better results, we have to walk through some discomfort. It may suck while you’re doing it, but remember that courage is not the absence of fear – courage is doing it anyway.
